well, once again i may be succored into buying a microsoft machine for one game from bioware...

kotor for the xbox.

so mass effect for the 360, sad thing is its almost worth it.

but that will literally be all i play.
im not a huge fan of shooters or sports games on the xbox when i can play them on a better machine, my PC.
and im not even a big fan of those genres and thats about all the xbox has to offer.

i know theres kameo...
and uh... FF11? no thanks it was a let down 3 years ago on the PC.

im interested to see if microsoft changes the game lineup or if theyre just going to follow suit.

Now that the xbox has had some time to develope, there's a much bigger variety of games available, as well as many design teams that are moving exclusivly to xbox like TEAMninja (Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive)

Wow! You're PC is better than the Xbox 360? That's one heck of a computer! Must have cost you a semi-fortune.

I expect there will be more decent titles then just ME

Like yourself I HATE FPS games and sports games (other then golf and snowboarding) have lost their appeal (to technical now adays).

Having said that tho, XBox 360 is still the only console I would buy. PS games have always turned me off (even their RPGs), and welp nintendo is for kids.

BTW: ME is 3 games not one! And JE 2 has also been announced so thats 4 games for sure! Id bet when LA smartens up and licences KotOR 3 that will also be a XBox 360 title! Im sure there will be more then those 5 tho

Theres also oblivion, though it will be better on the PC. I'm sure that Microsoft realise that RPGs have a big following and can help sell there console. Why do you think they make an exclusive deal with Bioware? I'd image it cost them a lot of money.

I dont actually know first hand why they do "exclusive" deals for the XBox but if I had to guess Id say its cheaper to make a program for a XBox console (as you design for the system rather then test multiple systems with multiple specs like PCs).

Also, Im starting to beleive that with t he popularity of consoles in todays market (and they are hugely popular), PC sales have been dropping and not cost effective to make anymore.

I really wouldnt be surprised to see more "exclusive " titles or cross platform titles (IE: XBox-PS-ect) and less PC titles in near futher.

For example, when K3 is eventually made, Id truley be surprised if it once again bothered with a PC version after the fact like the first two. I suspect it will just go the XBox route only and MAYBE cross platform to PS after the XBox sales have dried up.

Just a suspicion on my part. I dont think PC titles are going to remain as common as in the past.

well it seems that each of the big3 consoles tout a certain lineup of games, and IMO here they are as follows...

xbox/360- shooters, sports and a few decent RPGs.
nintendo cube/rev- platform, adventure and a few decent decent RPGs.
PS2/3- covers the spectrum IMO, it has all the sports shooters RPGs adventure, platform and puzzle. i think its the most diverse.

and as a sidenote, i have played more games on my PS2 but i actually own more for my gamecube and play them more often. certain games that have a high replay value... animal crossing, PSO, mario sunshine, zelda, starfox adventures, fire emblem. when i play a PS2 game i usually play through beat it or get bored and trade it in.

now my xbox experience wasnt very pleasant. i had lots of quirky problems with my machine and it was 3rd generation, so the kinks should have been worked out by then. of course i loved kotor and jade empire but once those were spent i found myself trying to get into shooters and halo... i was fooling myself, it was a waste of my time and money, it didnt do anything for me.

There is already a thread open discussing the types of games, especially RPGs that are available on the Xbox 360. It can be found here:
