It has been mentioned before that in order to progress through Mass Effect something must often be sacrificed. So I propose this hypothetical situation: Two populated worlds are facing annihilation. There is no time to evacuate either world but by acting quickly you can save either world but by so doing you ensure the destruction of the other. So how would you choose? What would you take into consideration as you decide which world you will let die?

New to the galaxy,

Well...um... which planet has the more attractive female population? Just curious.

Let them both die. That's fair.

Travel to both planets, tell them to pay you to save their planet. After both have payed you, check and see which one has given you more money, and use that to determine the condition of their economy. The greater the money, the more beneficial they are to the rest of the galaxy.

Or, just take all of their money along with their most attractive slaves, and then watch and laugh from the Normandy as both worlds blow up.

Let them both die. That's fair.

Life's not fair. But it's not fair for everyone. That makes life fair.

Anyway, if you have the ability to save one world, you pretty much have to. To not save one of the worlds would waste the lives that you could have saved.

save the world? Save the people in the world? Save the girls in the world? Save the money... which attracts the girls in the world?

So many decisions....

1. Strategic importance to my plans.
2. Economic importance to my plans.
3. Strategic importance to the galaxy.
4. Economic importance to the galaxy.

The first is by far the most importance and would likely be exactly the same as the third.
Also I would consider allowing them both to die if I felt that the enemy would then consider me weak and so I could lure them into a trap, on a third world that I use as bait.

Honestly what are the lives of a couple of billion people compared to my own personal plans?
The answer to that is nothing, their lives are worth nothing if they do not benefit me.

Depending on the two planet's populations, resources, and influence/importance among the galaxy would be the best way to evaluate that decision. Then make that fateful decison. Either way it's a sad and difficult choice because millions of people's deaths and a planet's death will be placed solely on you.

Why are these worlds dying? Are military forces attacking them? Are they going to fly into a sun?

Situation is important here.

I say install some surround sound, a high-power telescope, and some white chedder popcorn with some Coke-Cola, then just sit back and watch.

Or send in your least liked/most hated
unit(s). That way you get rid of an annoying crew member, and it looks like atleast you tried.

Hey I am not letting them die for attractiveness and money, I am letting them die for good pragmatic reasons.

I would personally see which one of the planet's inhabitants would be more gullible then I would let the other die. That way I could manipulate that planets populace with my new found influence to whatever needs I require.
