All movies are dubbed? I remember being in Paris and all the films I saw being advertised said like "English audio, french subtitles" or something. I watched Snakes on A Plane (or "Des Serpents dans l'avion" if my French is not awful) and it was in English. In general I prefer to have the original language dub with subtitles. That way the voices still fit but you can still understand it. Like I cannot imagine an English dub of Der Untergang. The only exception is Studio Ghibli films which have amazing English dubs.

movies are dubbed and subbed. but 90% of the people only watch the dubbed version.

just a little count : in my town (Dijon), there are 6 movie theater, 2 with subs, 4 with dubs. but if you count the movies simultaneously projected (number of projecting rooms), then you have 5 subs and 27 dub.

back to topic : Kotor in France was full french and I don't remember any other language on the dvd so I think ME will be french only

Edit : yes, it's "des serpents dans l'avion"

I doubt there will be a multi-language option. Mass Effect is finding it a squeeze to fit onto 1 DVD-9 at the moment, and I doub there would be space for multi-language voiceovers.

You'll have to import the English version, I would say...

Sorry for my late reply. I can now confirm the Loc sku's are as so:
French = French audio & French text. No english on disk
German = German audio & German text. No english on disk
Italian = Italian audio & Italian text. No english on disk
Spanish & Polish = On the English disk, Spanish & Polish text, English audio.

There is simply not enough room on the disk to fit another set of audio files. We are quite heavy on the audio front

The Loc team (inhouse, publisher and vendors) work extremely hard on creating the best localised versions we can possible create, our aim is to match if not better the English quality. The audio for ME in all langauges sounds so amazing, I truly hope you guys and gals won't be disappointed. Your feedback is always valuable to us, so please do contact me if you have comments when you play the game.

and thats it from the offical Bioware Loc Producer. Questions anyone?

So much for people who thought they could fit more than 2 English voicetracks for Shepard on the disc.

ME in Polish would be awesome, too bad I'm just a hair away from being able to understand it though. I'm guessing none of the languages are on the US version, or is Spanish text there at least? Not that I care, although re-playing the game with Spanish voiceover could be interesting.

The US disk will contain English, Spanish and Polish text, but alas, only English audio.

You will not be able to play using Spanish audio as we didn't record into Spanish. The main reason being: What locales are we aiming for? Castillian, Mexican, Chilean, Argentinian? You can translate (generically sort of) for all Spanish markets but you sure can't do a generic recording. We would have to have done 2 sets of audio, 1 for European Spanish and 1 for LatAm. Alas, that costs alot of $$.

OMG! Polish text on the disc? I don't care a bit (and I prefer it in English) but I know lot of ppl in Poland will be very happy. Thank you Bioware for finding our country important enough to make a separate translation.

I will import from Amazon UK then.

I heard if you use the Colombian version, it sounds pretty good to everyone in Latin America, kind of like Midwest accent in US. Failing that, Castillian is kind of like King's English is to the rest of the world. But I guess there's no room for second soundtrack anyway. But oh well, at least we got the subtitles, may be I'll try to learn some Polish.

"German = German audio & German text. No english on disk"

Sucks. Looking at the track record of other translated Biowar games, it seems like I have to import the UK version.

I am wounded MD. Which Bioware games have you played in German? when you say "sucks" can you be more specific ( I will email you so you have my address to contact me directly - we will take this offline)

I have a challenge for you and others: Will you play the German version of ME for me and give me your honest feedback?

If you want my honest feedback to be "I didn't understand a word of it. ", then sure, I'm your huckleberry.

Oh wait, you were refering to people in Germany who were planning to get the localized version. Heh, oops.

why does it suck? I think the people at germany are lucky that they get the audio in german. Here in Spain we wont get teh audio in spanish, many people in spain will get angry about this but i dont care about this, but i said this already. But I still think its nice to hear the voices of the characters on your language
