Quote: The PC version is, as promised, definitely a PC version; a conversion more than a port... The writing is exemplary... Mass Effect offers us a singular universe of excitement and drama to lose ourselves in... It's an incredibly ballsy game. G4 Game Rating: 5/5 Click Here by Adam Sessler June 3, 2008
Quote: The same amazing game with noticeable improvements... Praises the PC version’s mouse & keyboard control scheme, hotkeys and individual squad commands.
GameDaily Game Rating: 9/10 (“Excellent”) Click Here by Steven Wong May 27, 2008
Quote: It's almost blasphemy to call this game a port. The controls are so good that it's virtually impossible to tell that the game was originally a console release... Mass Effect is even better on PC, thanks for improved controls. The mouse and keyboard controls are so natural that they improve the game's performance at practically every level... Anyone looking for a spectacular sci-fi RPG and has the necessary system requirements should pick up the PC version... The game that was already exceptional on the Xbox 360 is even better on the PC, so it's really a no brainer. The eurogamer review is up as well:

8/10
Quote: "It's an incredibly ballsy game, not afraid to take on any of its competitors, in any field. Story-lead games? Shooters? Even genuine, non-game populist sci-fi? Mass Effect has a try at them all, and leaves more wounds in them than they leave in it, before blasting off into a space all of its own."

I read the Eurogamer one, as usual completely misses the point, thinks it's KOTOR with real-time combat. |

In spanish. Meristation, 9.5
The same as console version.
Meristation says that the game has gamepad support and anti aliasing.

Although I loved the article, that bit made me do a spit take over my PC.
The load times in lifts (elevators to you non-europeans) HAVE been greatly reduced. So much so, when I was on the press tour in San Fran and Minneapolis earlier this month, I especially showed the Normandy elevator (one of the slowest in the 360 version) to the press so they could see how fast they are.
Maybe they were playing some of the elevators with dialog? Some elevators do have party dialogs or even plots that can be learned form the PA system. Those have not changed. But the basic "Just taking a long time to go up/down" elevators are MUCH faster.

That's what I like to hear
The main bad points in the reviews so far have been the control and driving system for the Mako, is it essentially a flawed design or is it just a driving style that takes a lot of getting used to? |

I don't really get that either. We did change teh Mako controls for the PC user to take advantage of the keyboard and mouse controls. I think they run better, but obviously the reviewer disagrees somewhat.

From what I've seen on the Bioware end, you've improved the ocntrols greatly, something suggests that the reviewers are just incompetent at driving vehicles
Well, just over a week now and then I'll be able to come back and be able to say how it handles |

Hungarian Gamestar: 94%
Gameplay: + Great mixture TPS and RPG - Sidequests on "unknown" planets are not really good
Graphics: + Even better than the Xbox360 version - The texture popping bug remained
Sound: + Great soundtrack and VO - The sounds of weapons could be more varied
Unfortunately I can't link the review because it's offline only and it's in Hungarian. _________________ Sorry for my grammar errors. |

I would actually be very happy with an 8/10 from Eurogamer as they tend to be very harsh and nitpicky for many many games. 8/10 at Eurogamer is in my opinion roughly a 9/10+ from an IGN/Gamespot. Also i think that the review reads better than an 8/10 in general terms. The score is deceiving, compared to the way the author praises the game. But this is all verging on a very subjective part of reviewing.... |

I'm personally waiting for the IGN review, I tend to trust IGN over a lot of other websites, no idea why, I just feel they odn't have bias towards specific companies or genres |
