 That's hilarious.
Man I like this this Omega place, it sounds really cool. I can picture what it looks like from the discription. I hope the real place looks as cool as I'm picturing.
I find it odd it referred to the Prothean extinction as "mysterious", this book takes place months after the first game right? So isn't it common knowledge by now that the reapers wiped them out? I mean, doesn't everyone know the galaxy is in a cycle of extinction and that their doom is imminent?
Can't wait to go there in ME 2(assuming we will), it would be cool hearing all those different dialects being spoken. I wonder if ME 2 will show some of this talk about aliens using other languages. Everyone in ME 1 used the trade language, it would be cool to actually see an alien speaking another language and being able to hear the translation as well as the original words, like in this scene.

It will be released on Tuesday, July 29. Although a lot of online stores have already sent out copies and I've heard a few people say that they've recieved their copy already.

Just read it, and gotta agree with Zandercode, the one piece of text that leapt out was that passage about the 'mysterious' Prothean extinction.
I dunno, maybe this early part of the book is set prior to ME1 and there will be a 'X years later' section halfway through.
Wouldn't be too much of a problem to do that I guess, considering Kahlee Sanders could have been doing just about anything for the 18 years in between ME:Revelation and ME itself. |

I've pre-ordered my book, but since I live in Australia no doubt i'll have to wait a while before it becomes available over here  hopefully sometime in August i'll get a surprise in the mail |

I don't want to give anything away, but this is explained/examined in the earlier sections of the novel. I suspect once people get their hands on the novel and understand what happened it will generate a fair amount of discussion on the boards... but not this board, since spoilers aren't allowed.
Remember: if you want to talk about Ascension (and hopefully people will) keep it spoiler free or post it on the story discussion board. (Not that anything anyone has said so far is a spoiler...)

well i dont think the council would want to tell the entire galactic public that there is a cycle every 50,000 years that synthetics come and kill all forms of advanced life. They probably just revealed the part about saren attacking the citadel with his geth amry but didnt reveal his intentions or mabye just made it it up to cover up the reapers |

That's what I'm thinking.
Hmm, maybe tthe book or Mass Effect 2 will partically be about "the secret truth", where Shepard and only a few others in the galaxy actually know about it, but they all vowed to never reveal it to anyone to not cause a panic.
Oooh, that would be an interesting emotional situation to be in, the only one who knows all civilization is about to be completely destroyed, but not being alowed to tell anyone... hmm...
