I installed ME and downloaded the latest patch as well as BDtS using my serial number. After that I wanted to start the game, but suddenly a small window with the EA logo comes up telling me to reenter my serial number... so I do again... and again and it always tells me it is not valid.
I used it to register the copy (which I bought today) here on the website.

Hi -
This happened to me and it is a bug in the new patch. EA tech support offered me this advice:
It is an issue with the over enthusiastic SecuRom security. Be absolutely sure that you have the latest 1.02 patch installed before un-installing, so that you will not lose an install count. The new patch will rectify that. A 1.01 or un-patched game will not.
This trick worked for me. Unfortunately it involves an re-install. _________________ Vista SP3 32-bit Asus M4A79 Deluxe AMD Phenom II X4 940 Memory: 3326MB RAM (2 sticks 2GB Kingston PC2-6400) DirectX Version: DirectX 10 ATI Radeon HD 4850 Driver 8.14.0010.0678 (9.7) Monitor: 1680x1050 flat panel |

Unfortunately it does not work for me. After uninstalling and reinstalling I get the same message every time I want to start the game. |

I found the same questions in the FAQs however when I try to click on the link to the EA solution page it won't load (server down). Can't someone tell me what to do? |

Stupid question: you didn't buy it off Steam, right? _________________ Refund Guy back in 2010! Add this to your signature if you support the return of Refund Guy. |

No, I bought the retail version from my local game store. And btw, it is still not working. I guess I will have to contact EA costumer support then. (I hate phoning cosutmer supports...) |

The solution seems to contact EA costumer support (phone, e-mail or live chat) and tell of your problem. They will ask for your CD key and then give you a new one which should work. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem! |
