1. Let her go the first time because that song she sang about me to her kiddies has a sick beat, yo!

2. I let Kaeden die. I was tired of those damned eyebrows and what is the deal with him standing in the hall in front of that monitor all the time? Plus, he was a perv. Ever hear about his fetish for asari matriarchs?

3. I let the council die. Friggin' politicans.

1: I freed the Rachni queen. I blame it on Orson Scott Card

2: I never romance either of them, so I let the most useful member live, usually Kaidan.

3: On my first playthrough I let them die despite me wanting to let them live, simply because I believed that saving them might allow Soverign to survive. On my subsequent palythroughs I let them live.

Ahhh, thank you, I went back to Noveria just now... "something you'd find on a fetish site"... I really had no idea he said that. Is a bit perv-ish, isn't it? Who'da thunk it?

I have heard many people say now that they did not save the Council because they felt they could not risk jeopardizing the galaxy.

I am curious, now that we all know full well that you can save the Council without jeopardizing the galaxy, how you feel about letting them die when you could have saved them? Would you have made the same decision?

We as the audience know that the galaxy is saved either way. Shepard has no way of knowing that, though. It's an entirely valid decision.

Anyway, for me it's not so much about jeopardizing the galaxy as it is about the council placing itself in danger through it's own complacency and ineptitude. Why should human lives be sacraficed for them? They made their choice.

The council doesn't deserve a second thought. I felt worse for the Ascension's crew.

Update,

finished the game, I let kaidan die, damn how could you waste a hot body like ashley?
too bad i was a complete jerk to her the whole game and didnt get any

the council liked the smell of their farts too much, a little smug, holding the humans back. they didnt offer any support to shepard and didnt believe any of his claims...so the naive finish last

So you choose to separate what you know as the player from what Shepard knows as the character? Interesting.

So, really, this was punishment for them. Your way of pronouncing sentence on them for their stupidity. Oh no, you'll get no judgment from me - like I said in my opening post, I just want to understand your decisions, and I can certainly understand yours. We were all angry with the Council.

I'm curious, then, how you think the Council races will react to what you did, and how quickly you think they're going to try to re-elect new Councilors who may anger you just as much?

I let the Rachni queen live, because she didn't seem inherently evil.

I let Kaidan die, and saved Ash, because... Well I could give you a really long list of in-depth reasons, but I don't want to waste anyones time (including my own)

Now when it came to saving the council that was tricky. It was really the only major decision that I didn't know about before I finished the game, so it was the Holy Crap what do I do moment for me. I spent a good four minutes trying to figure out what would happen if I chose x as opposed to y.

I didn't want the Council dead, but I didn't want to lose any important battleships, or frigates before they even reached Soverign. In the end I chose the Paragon choice, and was happy with my decision.

Lol. I had to laugh when you talked about the "holy crap what do I do moment". I had the exact same moment - I had no idea the decision was coming, either. Because it sort of got sprung on me I totally froze there in my seat with my controller. I stared at the screen so intensely you'd think I'd just unwrapped a live bomb. "Red wire, blue wire...? Crap!"

Yeah I'm glad that no one spoiled that decision for me. (Stares leeringly at Mass Effect wiki) the Kaidan/Ashley ordeal I knew well in advance.

1. I let her live. I think the Rachni was the most interesting species, next to the Geth. Plus that would be cool to see the Rachni Queen and her new children assisting on a campaign against the Reapers.

2. I always let Kaiden die. Not only do I play as an Adept on my main character, rendering him useless as is, I always do the Romance mission with Ashley. Even when I played as a soldier I think I killed Kaiden off, simply because I don't like him.

3. I saved the council. I just imagine the repercussions for killing off the council to be too much in ME2. Plus, I never really had a problem with their decisions. I doubt I would risk assembling a galactic fleet on the whim of a newly appointed human spectre who's having strange hallucinations. Or at the very least, I'd issue random drug screenings.

It seems like most of us let Kaidan die, even if there was no romance with Ashley going on. He's like the most popular Virmire death choice. Why is that? Why did so many people kill him off?

1. Let her live.
A gamble yes but if they do keep true to their word then they would make amazing allies in the future especially if the reapers will be involved.

2. Kaiden
I trusted his ability to protect the bomb and Ash was with the Salarians. All the better to save more and sacrifice a single life.

3. Save because the Asari Flagship is worth a few alliance war vessels and the Council is way better than Udina. If the Asari flagship wasn't at stake I probably still would have saved them since replacements are that hard to come by apparently.

1. On my first playthrough i did kill the rachni queen. Mainly because i went 100% renegade .

2. I got really surprised at first that i had to sacrifice one of my crew members. I had been playing with Kaiden mostly from the beginning, and i had no relationships with Ashley, so i sacrificed her.

3. As i said earlier my first playthrough was 100& renegade, so i sacrificed the council.
