I've been able to enable full 360 controller support in Mass Effect PC + 360 original menus, so context buttons in most menus, are in line with the 360 buttons controls.

Note that this should be considered beta as i have not been able to test every scenario yet. All menus except inventory and abilities should be 100% working with the controller now.

Here's what's been done as of now:

-Left Stick movements/menus;
-Right Stick look/conversation wheel;
-Full Force feedback support;
-Full 360 buttons/triggers support
-360 menu: Splash Screen;
-360 menu: Character creation (new game): cannot change default name yet;
-360 menu: Journal;
-360 menu: Codex;
-360 menu: Map (has a small control
glitch where you need to press both stick to make the map move, but it's working very well);

Here's what i'm working on right now:
-360 menu: Save/Load
-360 HUD / Weapon Wheel (context buttons ok but weapon wheel does not show)
-360 inventory (items not showing)
-360 abilities (abilities not showing)
-360 tutorials (only showing PC keys)

I'm at work, but i'll put a link up with the ini files tonight. Cheers!

Wow, that's a lot of work and you must have spent quite a bit of time on it. I'd love to be able to play Mass Effect on my PC with the option to have my controller.

Come on people, admit it, you'd like to be able to lean back and just relax while you watch and listen to the dialog scenes.

Took me an evening... imagine how easy and fast it would be for Bioware to implement it, since they have the source code...

here's the link to the INI files, backup your saves and original INI beforehand.

Hey Atari - this is great stuff and it would be awesome if you got it working filly, but I think other people got this far and then nothing more was heard.

I use two controllers at the moment, as to avoid the spinning camera bug. I add the necessary lines to map rstick to movement, but leave everything else unmapped and use pinnacle for the rest. I will only get the spinning cam bug if I use controller 1. Controller 2 wont suffer from this, but the problem is the movement mappings I copied in to bioinput.ini will only work on controller 1.
Do you know of any way to specific which coontroller the mapping is for?

Using these bindings i don't get the spinning bug. i'm also using a single, wireless 360 controller.

The bindings should work with controller 1 only (assuming you have 2x 360 wireless controller).

Yeah, i know, but the problem is the GUI for me. I prefer to use a mixture of ingame binds for analog movement, and then map the rest using pinnacle. That way I can control the cursor when needed.

I prefer to plug in a wireless mouse over controlling the mouse with my controller, but i was planning on checking if it's possible to move the pointer using the in-game engine with the controller.

Priority though is trying to figure out how to reenable full 360 menu support.

Wow, what an absolutely amazing project you are doing! Kudos!

Developers should realize that now many PC gamers aren't only playing on desks, but also hooking them up to TVs just like consoles. You may tell me to buy a console then, but I still want to play the game with mods, full 1080P (not upscaled like on consoles. ), etc.

But then again, many wouldn't be happy being saddled with a console interface on a PC game, like with many console ports to the PC. So they should create a "PC" interface for keyboard/mouse with more complexity and precision and "console" interface which activates when a gamepad is plugged in.

I never played the 360 version myself and would like to see the difference in playing styles.

in BioInput.ini,
Bindings=( Name="XboxTypeS_RightX", Command="Repeat CameraTurnLeftRight 1.0 0.2 ...
and
Bindings=( Name="XboxTypeS_RightY", Command="Repeat CameraLookUpDown 1.0 0.2 ...

try to change 1.0 to a lesser value (0.5 for example).

yes this is being adressed in the new ini's i'm working on. The 360 decrypter is broken on the PC version it seems.
