Say the collectors and the reapers have been involved in an ancient stalemate war. As far as I can tell from trailers, it seems they collect humans as resources. Possibly they once did this with another much earlier race. The reapers have started to use a scortched earth policy, by wiping out these resources so they cannot be used, and therefore keep the upper hand. _________________ I may be mad, but that doesn't mean I'm not right - Dr Gaius Baltar (BSG) |

Honestly I think the Collecters are a race that lives off of the Reaper's war of distruction.
Say one time during the cycle of genocide the Reapers missed a species, because that species was unknown and isolated from any mass relay.
After the Reapers retreated to dark space, the Collecters after time where able to explore the rest of the gallaxy and what ever the Reapers left behind from their war with the galaxy they would collect and use to benifit their own civ.
And once the other sentient races emerge and become space aged the Collectors hide for several thousand years until the Reapers come back and kill all sentient life and then retreat to dark space.
So the Collectors live off the spoilz of war, so their civilization is dependent of secresy and the genocidal compaign of teh Reapers.
However this time when Shepard stopped Sovereign and halted the Reaper invasion the collectors in order for their civ to servive have to become more open because the Reapers have not returned yet. _________________ Because failure is an option.Edited By Capt. CornHole on 11/07/09 17:18 |

The reapers use the resources mined by the organics such as element zero and then do the scorched earth policy. |

This was one of my original ideas, see, it might have been better, if the Protheans were not the only survivors; seems too unlikely. Out of a galaxy of quadrillions, what are the odds that the Protheans are the only species to have survived the Reaper onslaught? It's a good idea to say that the Collectors successfully survived the Reaper attack and is launching a counter-campaign against the Reapers by studying their methods, using humans as the incubators. _________________ Paige: "...your boyfriend seems...er..extremely committed."
